Stars Best Shop Awards 2017

Stars Retail Awards 2017 has once again secured headline sponsorship from LYCRA® (a trademark of US fibre giants, INVISTA). These Retail Awards for the underwear, swimwear, nightwear and legwear sectors are organised by leading UK b2b publication, Underlines Magazine.

This year the gala presentation evening will return on 9th November to Shakespeare’s UnderGlobe, with approximately 350 special guests. Stars is primarily aimed at recognising the value of specialist and independent shops in these competitive sectors of the market.

Unique in their field Stars 2017 has 13 key Awards* with a Supplier of the Year Award. Nominations are created by the jury of 25 brands and not self-nomination and over 400 stores, shops and etailers are nominated each year.

Other important sponsors include Anita & Rosa Faia, Wacoal, hosiery brands ITEM m6 and MELAS co-sponsoring the Legwear Retailer of the Year,  Mode City/Salon International de la Lingerie and Interfiliere.  Industry bodies lend their support including the Fashion Association of Britain, American brand leaders Maidenform and DKNY and renowned French label, Lise Charmel.

Stars Awards debuted in the UK in 2007. The competition is held in the USA (Best of Intima Shops); Germany (Sterne der Wäsche), Italy (Stelle dell’Intimo) and France (Top 100) with sister publications in those countries.

Mish wins Drapers’ Niche Retailer of the Year Award

drapersawards_mish

The Cornish lingerie specialist, Mish, brings back to Wadebridge their 2nd industry award to sit alongside last year’s Stars Award for Best Specialist E-Tailer. Mish won Best Niche Retailer of the Year at the Drapers Independents Awards 2016, where they were judged for their extensive range of specialist lingerie, potential for future growth and shopping experience.

“It’s amazing to have won Best Niche Fashion Retailer of the Year! We focus a lot on providing problem solving lingerie and accessories for our customers, such as the Halto and Bandelettes, so it’s a massive achievement to be recognised in the industry for our niche product range,” said Michele Poynter, Managing Director of Mish. “We’ve been nominated for the Drapers Independents Awards a couple of times before, so I’m over the moon to finally bring the award back home to my team and for my customers.”

Mish caters to the needs of women who require larger cup sized bras and swimwear, and since the  last year have also expanded their range to include up and coming independent lingerie brands. “The fashion industry should take note of its best independents, as they provide inspiration on so many levels. Offering some of the best customer service in the fashion industry, indies know how to keep their customers happy – and keep them coming back,” said Keely Stocker, Editorial Director of Drapers.
