On August 6th, The Best of Intima magazine held the 13th edition of its annual The Best of Intima Awards at New York City’s elegant Tribeca 360°. 2017 marks the 60th anniversary of Intima Media Group and to celebrate, the most prestigious North American retailers were honoured with a unique Champions Edition of the contest, where for the first time past winners could re-enter the competition.
The jury, formed of representatives from twenty of the world’s most renowned intimate apparel brands, put forward 300 nominees, and when the votes were counted 36 finalists emerged spanning five categories. Concept, stores with a strong theme reflected in their dècor and unique product offer; European Flair, for a boutique with a continental feel and a strong selection of imported brands; Reference, stores with a large, comprehensive product offer; Personal Touch, for a retail space that reflects the individuality of its owner with a focus on one-to-one customer service; and The Best of Intima’s Choice.

Francesca Spinetta, Co-owner and Editorial Director of the Intima Magazines, welcomed guests before introducing Zvi Ertel, CEO of Dana-Co, to officially open this year’s awards ceremony. One store among this year’s nominees stood out and was given a very special mention at the ceremony, with the following extra category prize awarded: Lifetime Achievement Award – Blum’s.
The 2017 Jury comprised of representatives from Anita, b.tempt’d, Chantelle, Commando, Cosabella, Curvy Kate, Empreinte, Freya, Hanky Panky, Hanro, Le Mystère, Lise Charmel, Montelle, Natori, Panache, Simone Pérèle, Skarlett Blue, Squeem, Triumph and Wacoal. With the special participation of Saxx, the celebration of Hanky Panky’s anniversary and sponsored by the Iluna group.
